Malampuzha is more known as a tourist destination, for its garden and rope-way. Rarely do people know that the dam was built to water the farms of rural Palakkad. Beyond the waterbody lies isolated human habitats--the villages of Akamalavaaram and Aanakkallu. When the dam is full, they take a boat; when the dam is dry like this in the summer, jeeps ply along the sides of the dam. But how do the farms and people survive?
